What it means

The Limited Test Ban Treaty was signed in 1963 by the United States, Soviet Union and United Kingdom. It prohibited nuclear weapons tests in the atmosphere, underwater and in outer space, while allowing underground tests to continue. It became an early arms-control result of the caution created by the Cuban Missile Crisis.
